Preamble
As is evident from its title, this Chapter of the Quran highlights the hypocrites of the city of Madinah, their crooked ways in dealing with the Messenger of God and their evil designs against the movement of liberation called Islam. It is acknowledged in the text that they are the ones who belonged to the tyrannical elitist class of the town. They are proclaimed as doomed. The supporters of
Islamic movement are also warned not to deviate from the path of God on any pretext and keep spending their resources on welfare of the masses as none will be given a second chance or respite to compensate for his misconduct.
The text being free from metaphoric, symbolic or idiomatic sentences or words, no difficulties were seen in the Chapter’s academic and rational translation.
Chapter al-Munaafiqoon (63)
إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّـهِ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ وَاللَّـهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَكَاذِبُونَ ﴿١﴾ اتَّخَذُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ﴿٢﴾ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ﴿٣﴾ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَقُولُوا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ۖ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ ۖ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ ۚ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّـهُ ۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ ﴿٤﴾ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ لَوَّوْا رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﴿٥﴾ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّـهُ لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ ﴿٦﴾ هُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ اللَّـهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّوا ۗ وَلِلَّـهِ خَزَائِنُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ﴿٧﴾ يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ ۚ وَلِلَّـهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٨﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّـهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ ﴿٩﴾ وَأَنفِقُوا مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَا أَخَّرْتَنِي إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ ﴿١٠﴾ وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّـهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَاللَّـهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١١﴾
Transliteration: “Idhaa jaa’aka al-munaafiqoona qaaloo nash’hadu inna-ka la-rasool-ul-laahi, wa Allahu ya’lamu inna-ka la-rasoolo-hu wa-Allahu yash’hadu inna-al-munaafiqeena la-kaadhiboon (1). Attakhadhoo ayimaana-hum junnatan fa-saddoo ‘un sabeel-il-laah; inna-hum saa’a ma kaanoo ya’maloon (2). Dhaalika bi-anna-hum aamanoo thumma kafaroo fa-tubi’a ‘alaa quloobi-him fa-hum la yafqahoon (3). Wa idhaa ra’ayita-hum tu’jibu-ka ajsaamu-hum. Wa in yaqooloo tasma’ li-qawli-him, ka-anna-hum khushubun musannadatun, yahsaboona kulla sayihatin ‘alayi-him. Hum-ul-‘aduwwu fa-ahdhar-hum. Qaatala-hum Allah. Annaa yu’fakoon (4). Wa idhaa qeela la-hum ta’aalaw yastaghfir la-kum rasool-ul-laahi lawwaw ru’oosa-hum wa rayita-hum yasuddoona wa hum mustakbiroon (5). Sawaa’un ‘alayi-him astaghfarta la-hum, am lam tastaghfir la-hum lan yaghfir-Allahu la-hum. Inna Allaaha la yahdi al-qoum-al-faasiqeen (6). Hum-ul-ladheena yaqooloona la tunfiqoo ‘alaa man ‘inda rasool-il-laahi hatta yanfadhdhoo. Wa lillaahi khazaa’in-us-Samaawaati wal-Ardhi wa laakinna-al-munaafiqeena la yafqahoon (7). Yaqooloona la-in-raja’na ila-al-madeenati la-yukhrijanna al-a’azzu min-ha al-adhalla. Wa lillaahi al-‘izzatu wa li-rasooli-hi wa lil-mu’mineena wa laakinna al-munaafiqeena la ya’lamoon (8). Ya ayyuhal-ladheena aamanu la tulhi-kum amwaalu-kum wa la awlaadu-kum ‘an dhikr-il-laahi. Wa man yaf’al dhaalika fa-oolaa’ika hum-ul-khaasiroon (9). Wa anfiqoo min ma razaqnaa-kum min qabli an ya’tiya ahada-kum al-mowtu, fa-yaqoola Rabbi lou la akhkhartani ilaa ajalin qareebin fa-assaddaqa wa akun min-as-saaliheen (10). Wa lan yu’akhkhar-al-laahu nafsan idhaa jaa’a ajalu-ha. Wa-Allaahu khabeerun bi-ma ta’maloon (11). ”
A specimen of Traditional Translations:
When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars. (1) They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: truly evil are their deeds. (2) That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not. (3) When thou lookest at them, their exteriors please thee; and when they speak, thou listenest to their words. They are as (worthless as hollow) pieces of timber propped up, (unable to stand on their own). They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded (away from the Truth)! (4) And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray for your forgiveness", they turn aside their heads, and thou wouldst see them turning away their faces in arrogance. (5) It is equal to them whether thou pray for their forgiveness or not. Allah will not forgive them. Truly Allah guides not rebellious transgressors. (6) They are the ones who say, "Spend nothing on those who are with Allah's Messenger, to the end that they may disperse (and quit Medina)." But to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the Hypocrites understand not. (7)They say, "If we return to Medina, surely the more honourable (element) will expel therefrom the meaner." But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not. (8) O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own. (9) and spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before Death should come to any of you and he should say, "O my Lord! why didst Thou not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good". (10) But to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed (for it) has come; and Allah is well acquainted with (all) that ye do. (11)
The latest Academic and Rational Translation:
“When the hypocrites came to you they said “we testify that you are God’s Messenger”, however the God does know that you are His Messenger while He also testifies that the hypocrites are indeed giving a false statement (1) as they have taken their oaths just as a cover and have actually turned away from the path of God. Indeed it is evil that they have been actively following (2). It is so because they first attained to faith and chose to deny it thereafter; therefore, a seal has been fixed upon their minds, so they no longer discern the right from the wrong (3). And when you see them, their physical disposition pleases you, but when they speak, you observe from their words as if they are like propped up pieces of hollow wood. They would show as if every suffering is falling upon them. They are the enemies; therefore, you must remain cautious of them. The God has been in a state of war against them (qaatala-hum). For whom they make a false show?(4). So, when they were asked to come in the fold, the Messenger of God would ensure protection/forgiveness for you (yastaghfir la-kum – یستغفِر لکُم), they turned their heads away and you saw them drawing back in a pompous way (5). It is all the same for them whether you offered protection/forgiveness for them, or you didn’t, the God is not going to forgive them, for indeed, God does not guide such criminal-minded people (6). It is they who prohibit/preclude any spending on those who are with God’s Messenger so that they may disperse (yanfadhdhu – ینفضّوا), while the fact is that to God belong the treasures of the heavens and the Earth; but those hypocrites do not realize that (7). They say, “When we return to power in the City (raja’na ila-al-Madinati – رجعنا الی المدینۃ), our elitist class (al-a’azzu – الاعزُّ) would certainly expel this lower class of people (al-adhalla – الاذلّ) from there. However, the power and domination belongs to God and to His Messenger and to the believers in peace; but these hypocrites are not aware of this reality (8). O people of faith & peace, do not let your wealth or your offspring make you oblivious of the remembrance of God, because those who acts that way, will be the real losers (9). And do spend from what We have provided for you before the death approaches any of you and then he may say : “O my Sustainer, had you given me a little bit of respite, I could have acknowledged/admitted the truth (assaddaqa – اصّدّق) and been among the righteous” (10). But the fact is that God does not grant a respite to a being when its term is expired, as God is fully aware of all that you do (11).”

جیسا کہ اس کے عنوان سے ظاہر ہے، قرآن کی یہ سورۃ مدینہ کے منافقین پر روشنی ڈالتی ہے، نبی پاک کے ساتھ ان کی مکارانہ روش کا اور اسلام کہلانے والی تحریکِ آزادی کے خلاف ان کے شیطانی عزائم کا ذکر کرتی ہے۔ یہ واضح کر دیا گیا ہے کہ یہی لوگ ہیں جو شہر کی جابرانہ اشرافیہ سے تعلق رکھتے تھے۔ ان کا برا انجام مقرر کر دیا گیا تھا۔ اسلامی تحریک کے ذمہ داروں کو بھی تنبیہ کی گئی ہے کہ اللہ کے رستے سے کسی بھی بہانے کے ذریعےانحراف نہ کریں اور وسائل انسانی فلاح پر خرچ کرتے رہیں ،کیونکہ کسی ایک کو بھی یہ موقع یا مہلت نہیں دی جائے گی کہ وہ اپنی غلط روش کی تلافی کر سکے۔
متن میں علامتی، تجریدی، استعاراتی یا محاوراتی جملوں یا الفاظ کی غیر موجودگی کے با عث سورۃ کے علمی اور شعوری ترجمے کی کاوش میں کوئی مشکل محسوس نہ کی گئی۔
سورۃ المنافقون [63]
إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّـهِ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ وَاللَّـهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَكَاذِبُونَ ﴿١﴾ اتَّخَذُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ﴿٢﴾ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ﴿٣﴾ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَقُولُوا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ۖ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ ۖ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ ۚ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّـهُ ۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ ﴿٤﴾ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ لَوَّوْا رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﴿٥﴾ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّـهُ لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ ﴿٦﴾ هُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ اللَّـهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّوا ۗ وَلِلَّـهِ خَزَائِنُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ﴿٧﴾ يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ ۚ وَلِلَّـهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٨﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّـهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ ﴿٩﴾ وَأَنفِقُوا مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَا أَخَّرْتَنِي إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ ﴿١٠﴾ وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّـهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَاللَّـهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١١﴾
مروجہ روایتی تراجم کا ایک نمونہ
اے نبیؐ، جب یہ منافق تمہارے پاس آتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں "ہم گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ آ پ یقیناً اللہ کے رسول ہیں" ہاں، اللہ جانتا ہے کہ تم ضرور اُس کے رسول ہو، مگر اللہ گواہی دیتا ہے کہ یہ منافق قطعی جھوٹے ہیں (1) انہوں نے اپنی قسموں کو ڈھال بنا رکھا ہے اور اِس طرح یہ اللہ کے راستے سے خود رکتے اور دنیا کو روکتے ہیں کیسی بری حرکتیں ہیں جو یہ لوگ کر رہے ہیں (2) یہ سب کچھ اس وجہ سے ہے کہ ان لوگوں نے ایمان لا کر پھر کفر کیا اس لیے ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگا دی گئی، اب یہ کچھ نہیں سمجھتے (3) اِنہیں دیکھو تو اِن کے جثے تمہیں بڑے شاندار نظر آئیں بولیں تو تم ان کی باتیں سنتے رہ جاؤ مگر اصل میں یہ گویا لکڑی کے کندے ہیں جو دیوار کے ساتھ چن کر رکھ دیے گئے ہوں ہر زور کی آواز کو یہ اپنے خلاف سمجھتے ہیں یہ پکے دشمن ہیں، ان سے بچ کر رہو، اللہ کی مار ان پر، یہ کدھر الٹے پھرائے جا رہے ہیں (4) اور جب اِن سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ آؤ تاکہ اللہ کا رسول تمہارے لیے مغفرت کی دعا کرے، تو سر جھٹکتے ہیں اور تم دیکھتے ہو کہ وہ بڑے گھمنڈ کے ساتھ آنے سے رکتے ہیں (5) اے نبیؐ، تم چاہے ان کے لیے مغفرت کی دعا کرو یا نہ کرو، ان کے لیے یکساں ہے، اللہ ہرگز انہیں معاف نہ کرے گا، اللہ فاسق لوگوں کو ہرگز ہدایت نہیں دیتا(6) یہ وہی لوگ ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ رسول کے ساتھیوں پر خرچ کرنا بند کر دو تاکہ یہ منتشر ہو جائیں حالانکہ زمین اور آسمانوں کے خزانوں کا مالک اللہ ہی ہے، مگر یہ منافق سمجھتے نہیں ہیں(7) یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم مدینے واپس پہنچ جائیں تو جو عزت والا ہے وہ ذلیل کو وہاں سے نکال باہر کرے گا حالانکہ عزت تو اللہ اور اس کے رسولؐ اور مومنین کے لیے ہے، مگر یہ منافق جانتے نہیں ہیں (8)اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، تمہارے مال اور تمہاری اولادیں تم کو اللہ کی یاد سے غافل نہ کر دیں جو لوگ ایسا کریں وہی خسارے میں رہنے والے ہیں (9) جو رزق ہم نے تمہیں دیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرو قبل اس کے کہ تم میں سے کسی کی موت کا وقت آ جائے اور اُس وقت وہ کہے کہ "اے میرے رب، کیوں نہ تو نے مجھے تھوڑی سی مہلت اور دے دی کہ میں صدقہ دیتا اور صالح لوگوں میں شامل ہو جاتا" (10) حالانکہ جب کسی کی مہلت عمل پوری ہونے کا وقت آ جاتا ہے تو اللہ اُس کو ہرگز مزید مہلت نہیں دیتا، اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو، اللہ اس سے باخبر ہے۔ (11)

"جب بھی یہ منافقین آپ کے پاس آئیں تو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم شہادت دیتے ہیں کہ آپ اللہ کے پیغامبر ہیں"، جب کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اس بات سے خوب آگاہ ہے کہ آپ اُس کے پیغامبر ہیں اور وہ ذاتِ پاک یہ شہادت بھی دیتا ہے کہ یہ منافقین دراصل ایک جھوٹا بیان دے رہے ہیں [1] کیونکہ وہ اس حلفیہ بیان کو صرف ایک پردہ رکھنے کے لیے استعمال کر رہے ہیں اور دراصل اللہ کے راستے سے دوسری جانب مُڑ چکے ہیں۔ درحقیقت جس روش پر وہ عمل پیرا ہے وہ ایک بد اعمالی کی روش ہے [2]۔ بات یہی ہے کہ وہ ایمان تو لے آئے لیکن بعد ازاں انکار کی روش اپنا لی، نتیجے کے طور پر ان کے اذہان پر مہر لگا دی گئی اور اب وہ عقل کا راستہ نہیں اختیار کر سکتے [لا یفقھون] [3]۔ اور جب آپ ان کے جسمانی حلیے دیکھیں تو وہ آپ کو پسند آئیں گے، اور جب وہ بات کریں تو آپ ان کی باتوں کو سنیں گے تو ایسا لگے گا کہ گویا وہ کھوکھلی لکڑی کے ٹکڑے ہیں جنہیں سہارے کے ساتھ کھڑا کر دیا گیا ہو۔ وہ ایسا ظاہر کریں گے جیسے ہر مصیبت انہی پر نازل ہو گئی ہو۔ یہ آپ کے دشمن ہیں اسلیے آپ ان سے ہوشیار رہیں۔ اللہ ان کے ساتھ حالتِ جنگ میں ہے۔ یہ کس کے لیے جھوٹ کا ڈھونگ رچا رہے ہیں؟ [4] اور جب بھی ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ اِس طرف آ جاو تاکہ اللہ کا رسول تمہارے لیے مغفرت اور حفاظت کا بندوبست کر دے [یستغفر لکم] تو وہ اپنی گردنیں دوسری جانب گھما لیتے ہیں اور تم دیکھ لیتے ہو کہ وہ متکبّرانہ انداز میں واپسی کا راستہ اختیار کر لیتے ہیں [5]۔ ان کے لیے ایک ہی بات ہے خواہ تم ان کی مغفرت کا بندوبست کرو، خواہ نہ کرو، کیونکہ اللہ ان کی مغفرت نہیں کرے گا۔ یہ حقیقت ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ مجرم ذہنیت رکھنے والوں کو ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا [6] ۔ یہ تو وہ لوگ ہیں جو کہتے رہتے ہیں کہ جو بھی رسول اللہ کے ساتھ ہیں ان کے لیے کچھ بھی خرچ نہ کرو تاکہ وہ تِتِّر بتّر ہو کر اِدھر اُدھر بکھر جائیں [ینفضُّوا]۔ جب کہ کائنات اور زمین کے تمام خزانے تو اللہ ہی کے ہیں مگر یہ منافقین اس بات کو نہیں سمجھ سکتے [7]۔ وہ تو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ جس وقت ہمیں شہر میں اقتدار واپس مل گیا [رجعنا]، تو ہماری اشرافیہ [الاعزّ] ان کمتر درجے کے لوگوں [الاذلّ] کو وہاں سے نکال باہر کرے گی ۔ جب کہ اصل عز و اقتدار تو اللہ اور اس کے رسول اور مومنین کا حق ہے۔ لیکن یہ منافقین اس حقیقت کا علم نہیں رکھتے [8]۔ اے ایمان والو، تمہارے اموال اور تمہاری اولاد تمہیں اللہ کی نصیحتوں سے غافل نہ کر دے۔ کیونکہ جو بھی ایسا کرے گا تو وہ خسارے میں رہے گا [9]۔ پس جو کچھ سامانِ زیست ہم نے تمہیں عطا کیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے رہو اس سے قبل کہ تم میں سے کسی کو موت آ جائے پھر وہ یہ کہتا ہو کہ اے میرے پروردگار اگر تو نے مجھے کچھ مہلت دے دی ہوتی تو میں اس فریضہ کی ادائیگی کی اپنے عمل سے تصدیق کر دکھاتا [اصّدّق] اور صالح بندوں میں شامل ہو جاتا [10]۔ لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ کسی جان کو بھی ، جب اس کا وقت آ جائے، مہلت نہیں دیا کرتا۔ اور جو کچھ بھی تم کرتے ہو اللہ اُس سے با خبر رہتا ہے [11]۔
