Preamble:
This Chapter lays emphasis on striving to fulfill God’s plans by obeying His commandments with a collective spirit of solidarity and determination in a particularly organized and systematic way (Al-Saff). It is pointed out that since every creation in this Universe is functioning towards that aim, man must also follow the divine injunctions and be steadfast in following the footsteps of His apostles.
The true light of the ideology called Islam is destined to spread far and wide in its ultimate perfection irrespective of its opposition by enemies, as it is so willed by God. The communities having a criminal mindset will not benefit from His guidance. The most important point is the disclosure that Jesus Christ had announced the coming of a divine Messenger after him with the name “AHMED”.
Chapter Al-Saff (61)
سَبَّحَ لِلَّـهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ﴿١﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٢﴾ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّـهِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٣﴾ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ ﴿٤﴾ وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللَّـهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ ﴿٥﴾ وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٦﴾وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّـهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ۚوَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٧﴾ يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّـهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّـهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ ﴿٨﴾ هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ ﴿٩﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَارَةٍ تُنجِيكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿١٠﴾ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١١﴾ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ ﴿١٢﴾ وَأُخْرَىٰ تُحِبُّونَهَا ۖ نَصْرٌ مِّنَ اللَّـهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا أَنصَارَ اللَّـهِ كَمَا قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ لِلْحَوَارِيِّينَ مَنْ أَنصَارِي إِلَى اللَّـهِ ۖ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللَّـهِ ۖ فَآمَنَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَكَفَرَت طَّائِفَةٌ ۖ فَأَيَّدْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا ظَاهِرِينَ ﴿١٤﴾
Transliteration: “Sabbaha lillaahi ma fis-samawaati wa ma fil-Ardh; wa huwa al-‘Aeez-ul-Hakeem (1). Ya ayyuhal-ladhina aamanu lima taquloona ma la taf’aloon (2). Kabura maqtan ‘indal-laahi an taquloo ma la taf’aloon (3). Inal-laaha yuhibb-ul-ladhina yuqaatiloona fi sabieeli-hi saffan ka-anna-hum bunyaanun marsoos (4). Wai dh qaala Moosa li-qawmi-hi ya qawmi lima tu’dhoona-ni wa qad ta’lamoona anni rasool-ul-laahi ilayi-kum; fa lamma zaaghoo azaagh-al-laahu qulooba-hum; wa-Allahu la yahdi-il-qawm-al-faasiqeen (5). Wa idh qaala ‘Eisa ibnu Maryama ya Bani Israela inni rasool-ul-laahi ilayi-kum musaddaq-al-lima bayina yadayya min-at-Tawraati wa mubashshiran bi-rasoolin yaati min ba’adi-ismu-hu Ahmad; fa lamma jaa’a-hum bil-bayyinaati qaalu haadha sihr-um-mubeen (6). Wa man azlamu mimman-iftara ‘alallah-il-kadhiba wa huwa yudh’aa ila-al-Islaam. Wallaahu la yahd-il-qawm-az-zaalimiin (7). Yureedoona li-yutfi’oo noor-Allaahi bi-afwaahi-him wa-Allahu mutimmu noori-hi wa lou karih-al-kaafiroon (8). Huwa alladhi ursala rasoola-hu bil-hudaa wa deen-il-haqqi li-yuzhira-hu ‘ala-ad-deeni kullihi wa lou karih-al-mushrikoon (9). Ya ayyu-hal-ladhina aamanu hal adullu-kum ‘alaa tijaaratin tunjee-kum min ‘adhaabin aleem (10). Tu’minoona billaahi wa rasooli-hi wa tujaahidoona fi sabeel-il-laahi bi-amwaali-kum wa anfusi-kum; dhaali-kum khayir-ul-lakum in kuntum ta’lamoon (11). Yaghfir la-kum dhunooba-kum wa yudkhil-kum jannatin tajri min tahtiha-al-anhaaru wa msaakina tayyibatun fi jannaati ‘adnin; dhaalik-al-fawz-ul-‘azeem (12). Wa ukhraa tuhibbuna-ha, naqsrun min-Allaahi wa fathun qareeb; wa bashshir-il-mo’mineen (13). Ya ayyu-hal-ladhina aamanu koonoo ansaar-al-laah kamaa qaala ‘Eisa-ibn-maryama lil-hawariyyeena man ansaari ila-Allaah; qaala-al-hawaariyyoona nahnu ansaar-ul-laah. Fa aamanat taa’ifatun min Bani Israela wa kafarat taa’ifatun. Fa ayyadna alladina aamanu ‘alaa ‘aduwwi-him, fa-asbahoo zaahireen (14).
A model of the prevalent traditional translations:
ALL THAT IS in the heavens and all that is on earth extol God's limitless glory: for He alone is almighty, truly wise! (1) O YOU who have attained to faith! Why do you say one thing and do another? (2) Most loathsome is it in the sight of God that you say what you do not do! (3) Verily, God loves [only] those who fight in His cause in [solid] ranks, as though they were a building firm and compact. (4) Now when Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same truth that he had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you cause me grief, the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let their hearts swerve from the truth: for God does not bestow His guidance upon iniquitous folk. (5) And [this happened, too,] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel! Behold, I am an apostle of God unto you, [sent] to confirm the truth of whatever there still remains of the Torah, and to give [you] the glad tiding of an apostle who shall come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he [whose coming Jesus had foretold] came unto them with all evidence of the truth, they said: "This [alleged message of his] is [nothing but] spellbinding eloquence!" (6) And who could be more wicked than one who invents [such] a lie about [a message from] God, seeing that he is [but] being called to self-surrender unto Him? But God does not bestow His guidance upon evil-doing folk. (7) They aim to extinguish God's light with their utterances: but God has willed to spread His light in all its fullness, however hateful this may be to all who deny the truth(8) He it is who has sent forth His Apostle with [the task of] spreading guidance and the religion of truth, to the end that He make it prevail over all [false] religion, however hateful this may be to those who ascribe divinity to aught but God. (9) O YOU who have attained to faith! Shall I point out to you a bargain that will save you from grievous suffering [in this world and in the life to come]? (10) You are to believe in God and His Apostle, and to strive hard in God's cause with your possessions and your lives: this is for your own good - if you but knew it! (11) [If you do so,] He will forgive you your sins, and [in the life to come] will admit you into gardens through which running waters flow, and into goodly mansions in [those] gardens of perpetual bliss: that [will be] the triumph supreme! (12) And [withal, He will grant you] yet another thing that you dearly love: succour from God [in this world], and a victory soon to come: and [thereof, O Prophet,] give thou a glad tiding to all who believe. (13) O YOU who have attained to faith! Be helpers [in the cause of God - even as Jesus, the son of Mary, said unto the white-garbed ones, "Who will be my helpers in God's cause?" - whereupon the white-garbed [disciples] replied, "We shall be [thy] helpers [in the cause] of God!" And so [it happened that] some of the children of Israel came to believe [in the apostleship of Jesus], whereas others denied the truth. But [now] We have given strength against their foes unto those who have [truly] attained to faith: and they have become the ones that shall prevail. (14)
The latest Academic and Rational Translation:
“Whatever exists in the celestial bodies and on this earth has been performing its functions for the accomplishment of God’s plans (سَبَّحَ لِلَّـهِ), as He is the Dominant Power, full of Wisdom (1). Therefore, O those who have attained to faith, why do you boast about that which you are not actually doing (2). It is very hateful with God that you speak of such things as you are not supposed to be doing (3). Indeed the God loves those of you who fight or struggle in His cause in a strong formation (Saffan – صفّا") as if they are a fortified front (bunyaanun marsoosun – بُنیان مرصوص) (4). And remember the time when Moses admonished his people by saying: “O People, why do you cause mental torture to me (tu’dhoona-ni – توذُوننی) when you already know that I am an Apostle of God deputed to you?” But when they turned away from the right path, God made their minds deviate. Verily, God does not guide such a community of criminals (al-qawm-ul-faasiqeen – القوم الفاسقین) (5). And remember the time when Jesus son of Mary said: “O children of Israel, I am a Messenger of God sent to you to confirm what is already with you of the Torah, and to give you glad tidings of a messenger who will come after me whose name - or attribute – will be Ahmad (اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ )”. However, when he finally came to them with clear signs, they said it was an open deceit (sehrun Mubeen – سحر مُبین) (6). So who could be more wicked than him who put blame upon God of lying when called upon to accept Islam/to submit? And God does not bestow guidance upon such a community of transgressors (7). They intend to extinguish the light of God with their tongues/words, while the God brings His light to perfection irrespective of the dislike of these deniers of truth (8). It is He Who has sent His messenger with guidance and an ideology of truth so that he makes it prevail over all other ideologies irrespective of the dislike of these polytheists (9). O those who have attained to faith, should I tell you about a business deal that would save you from a painful suffering?(10). All of you must believe in God and His Messenger and strive hard in God’s cause with your possessions and your lives; that is for your own good if you happen to know it (11). This way He would bestow his protection upon you from your errors and would admit you to a life of peace and comfort (وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ) under which flows abundance of everything and where they would enjoy befitting abodes in perpetual bliss. That is the great success (12). And another thing which you are going to love; there’s God’s support and a victory soon to come; And give this glad tiding to those responsible for spreading this movement of peace (13). O those who have attained to faith, become the supporters of God, like Jesus son of Maryam had said to his companions, “Who would be my helpers in God’s cause”? His companions replied: “We are helpers of God”. And it so happened that a group of the children of Israel attained to faith and a group of them denied the faith. Then we strengthened those who had attained to faith against their enemies so they eventually achieved dominance over the others (14).”

یہ سورۃ اللہ کے پلان کی تکمیل کے لیے جدوجہد کرنے پر زور دیتی ہے جو اُس کے احکامات پر ایک مضبوط اور اجتماعی عزم کے ساتھ تنظیم و ترتیب کے ہمراہ [الصفّ ] عمل کرنے سے عبارت ہے۔ اس حقیقت پر توجہ مبذول کرائی گئی ہے کہ کائنات میں موجود ہر تخلیق اُسی ہدف کی تکمیل کے لیے اپنے اپنے وظائف ادا کرنے میں مصروف ہے، اس لیے انسان کو بھی الہامی فرمودات کی پیروی کرنی ضروری ہے اور اس کے لیے اُس کے رسولوں کے نقشِ قدم پر ثابت قدمی کے ساتھ چلنا ہوگا۔ اُس نظریے کی، جسے اسلام کہا گیا ہے، سچی روشنی کا اپنے پورے کمال و اتمام کے ساتھ دور و نزدیک پھیل جانا ایک لازمی امر ہے خواہ اس کی کتنی ہی مخالفت کی جائے۔ وہ معاشرے جو مجرمانہ ذہنیت کے حامل ہوں گے اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہنمائی سے فیضیاب نہیں ہو سکیں گے۔ سب سے اہم نکتہ جس کا انکشاف کیا گیا یہ ہے کہ حضرت عیسسیٰ نے اپنے بعد اللہ کے ایک نبی کے آنے کا اعلان کر دیا تھا، جن کا نام "احمد" ہوگا۔

سَبَّحَ لِلَّـهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ﴿١﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٢﴾ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّـهِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٣﴾ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ ﴿٤﴾ وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللَّـهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ ﴿٥﴾ وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٦﴾وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّـهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ۚوَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٧﴾ يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّـهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّـهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ ﴿٨﴾ هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ ﴿٩﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَارَةٍ تُنجِيكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿١٠﴾ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١١﴾ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ ﴿١٢﴾ وَأُخْرَىٰ تُحِبُّونَهَا ۖ نَصْرٌ مِّنَ اللَّـهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا أَنصَارَ اللَّـهِ كَمَا قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ لِلْحَوَارِيِّينَ مَنْ أَنصَارِي إِلَى اللَّـهِ ۖ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللَّـهِ ۖ فَآمَنَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَكَفَرَت طَّائِفَةٌ ۖ فَأَيَّدْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا ظَاهِرِينَ ﴿١٤﴾

اللہ کی تسبیح کی ہے ہر اُس چیز نے جو آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے، اور وہ غالب اور حکیم ہے (1) اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، تم کیوں وہ بات کہتے ہو جو کرتے نہیں ہو؟ (2) اللہ کے نزدیک یہ سخت ناپسندیدہ حرکت ہے کہ تم کہو وہ بات جو کرتے نہیں (3) اللہ کو تو پسند وہ لوگ ہیں جو اس کی راہ میں اس طرح صف بستہ ہو کر لڑتے ہیں گویا کہ وہ ایک سیسہ پلائی ہوئی دیوار ہیں (4) اور یاد کرو موسیٰؑ کی وہ بات جو اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہی تھی "اے میری قوم کے لوگو، تم کیوں مجھے اذیت دیتے ہو حالانکہ تم خوب جانتے ہو کہ میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا بھیجا ہوا رسول ہوں؟" پھر جب انہوں نے ٹیڑھ اختیار کی تو اللہ نے ان کے دل ٹیڑھے کر دیے، اللہ فاسقوں کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا (5) اور یاد کرو عیسیٰؑ ابن مریمؑ کی وہ بات جو اس نے کہی تھی کہ "اے بنی اسرائیل، میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا بھیجا ہوا رسول ہوں، تصدیق کرنے والا ہوں اُس توراۃ کی جو مجھ سے پہلے آئی ہوئی موجود ہے، اور بشارت دینے والا ہوں ایک رسول کی جو میرے بعد آئے گا جس کا نام احمد ہوگا مگر جب وہ ان کے پاس کھلی کھلی نشانیاں لے کر آیا تو انہوں نے کہا یہ تو صریح دھوکا ہے (6) اب بھلا اُس شخص سے بڑا ظالم اور کون ہوگا جو اللہ پر جھوٹے بہتان باندھے حالانکہ اسے اسلام (اللہ کے آگے سر اطاعت جھکا دینے) کی دعوت دی جا رہی ہو؟ ایسے ظالموں کو اللہ ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا (7) یہ لوگ اپنے منہ کی پھونکوں سے اللہ کے نور کو بجھانا چاہتے ہیں، اور اللہ کا فیصلہ یہ ہے کہ وہ اپنے نور کو پوا پھیلا کر رہے گا خواہ کافروں کو یہ کتنا ہی ناگوار ہو (8) وہی تو ہے جس نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور دین حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے تاکہ اسے پورے کے پورے دین پر غالب کر دے خواہ مشرکین کو یہ کتنا ہی ناگوار ہو (9) اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، میں بتاؤں تم کو وہ تجارت جو تمہیں عذاب الیم سے بچا دے؟ (10) ایمان لاؤ اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر، اور جہاد کرو اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مالوں سے اور اپنی جانوں سے یہی تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے اگر تم جانو (11) اللہ تمہارے گناہ معاف کر دے گا، اور تم کو ایسے باغوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی، اور ابدی قیام کی جنتوں میں بہترین گھر تمہیں عطا فرمائے گا یہ ہے بڑی کامیابی (12) اور وہ دوسری چیز جو تم چاہتے ہو وہ بھی تمہیں دے گا، اللہ کی طرف سے نصرت اور قریب ہی میں حاصل ہو جانے والی فتح اے نبیؐ، اہل ایمان کو اِس کی بشارت دے دو(13) اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، اللہ کے مددگار بنو، جس طرح عیسیٰ ابن مریمؑ نے حواریوں کو خطاب کر کے کہا تھا: "کون ہے اللہ کی طرف (بلانے) میں میرا مددگار؟" اور حواریوں نے جواب دیا تھا: "ہم ہیں اللہ کے مددگار" اُس وقت بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گروہ ایمان لایا اور دوسرے گروہ نے انکار کیا پھر ہم نے ایمان لانے والوں کی اُن کے دشمنوں کے مقابلے میں تائید کی اور وہی غالب ہو کر رہے (14)
جدید علمی و شعوری ترجمہ
"جو کچھ بھی اس زمین اور ان کائناتی کُرّوں میں موجود ہے اللہ کے مقاصد کی تکمیل میں سرگرمِ عمل رہا ہے [سَبَّحَ لِلَّـهِ] کیونکہ وہی اُس تمام غلبے و اقتدار کا مالک ہے جو عقل و دانش پر مبنی ہے [1]۔ پس اے ایمان والو تم کیوں ایسی بڑائی کی بات کرتے ہو جس پرعمل پیرا نہیں ہوتے [2]۔ اللہ کے نزدیک یہ بڑی نفرت انگیز بات ہے کہ تم وہ کہو جو نہیں کر سکتے [3]۔ اللہ تعالیٰ تو ان لوگوں سے محبت کرتا ہے جو اس کی راہ میں تنظیم و ترتیب کے ساتھ [صَفًّا] اس طرح جدوجہد کرتے ہیں گویا کہ وہ ایک نہایت مضبوط و مربوط محاذ [بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ ] کی مانند ہوں [4]۔ اور یاد کرو موسیٰ کو جب اس نے اپنی قوم کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سرزنش کی تھی کہ تم مجھے کیوں ذہنی اذیت پہنچاتے ہو جبکہ تم یہ خوب جانتے ہو کہ میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا رسول مقرر کیا گیا ہوں۔ لیکن پھر جب وہ سیدھی راہ سے منحرف ہوئے تو اللہ نے ان کے اذہان کو ہی بھٹکا دیا، کیونکہ اللہ ایسی مجرم ذہنیت رکھنے والی قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا [5]۔ اور یاد کرو عیسیٰ ابن مریم کو جب انہوں نے کہا کہ اے بنی اسرائیل، بیشک میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا بھیجا گیا رسول ہوں، اس کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہوں جو توراۃ کی شکل میں تمہارے پاس موجود ہے اور یہ بشارت دینے والا ہوں کہ میرے بعد ایک رسول آئے گا جس کا نام یا صفت [اسْمُهُ ] احمد ہوگا۔ مگر جب وہ کھلی نشانیوں کے ساتھ ان کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے یہ موقف اختیار کیا کہ یہ تو صریح دھوکا ہے [سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ] [6]۔ تو بھلا اس سے بڑا گمراہ اور کون ہوگا جو اللہ تعالیٰ پر جھوٹا بہتان باندھے جب کہ اسے اسلام کی طرف دعوت دی جا رہی ہو۔ ایسے گمراہوں کی قوم کو اللہ تعالیٰ ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا [7]۔ یہ لوگ یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کی عطا کردہ روشنی کو اپنی زبانوں یا اپنے الفاظ سے بجھا دیں، جبکہ اللہ تعالیٰ تو اپنی عطا کردہ روشنی کی تکمیل کرنے والا ہے خواہ حق کا انکار کرنے والوں کو ناگوار لگتا ہو [8]۔ وہی ہے جس نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور سچائی کے چلن کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے تاکہ وہ اسے تمام دیگر نظریات پر غالب کر دے خواہ الہامی نظریے میں ملاوٹ کرنے والوں [الْمُشْرِكُونَ] کو یہ کتنا ہی ناگوار گذرے [9]۔ آے ایمان والو کیا میں تمہیں ایسا کاروبار بتاوں جو تمہیں ایک دردناک عذاب سے بچا لے؟[10]۔ وہ یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لے آو اور اللہ کی راہ میں جدو جہد کرو، اپنے اموال اور اپنی جانوں کے ساتھ ۔ یہی ہے جو تمہارے لیے بہتر راستہ ہے اگر تم اس کا علم رکھتے ہو [11]۔ اس طرح وہ تمہاری غلطیوں کے نتائج سے تمہیں تحفظ دے گا اور تمہیں ایسی پُر امن وعافیت زندگی میں داخل کر دے گا [وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ] جس میں ہہر قسم کی فراوانیاں جاری ہوں گی اورابدی خوشیوں کی ہمراہی میں تمہاری من پسند رہنے کی جگہ ہوگی۔ یہی عظیم کامیابی ہے [12]۔ اور وہ تمہیں ایک اور چیز بھی دے گا جسے تم بہت پسند کروگے۔ وہ ہے اللہ کی مدد کے ساتھ جلد ہی حاصل ہونے والی فتح ۔ امن و ایمان کے پھیلانے والوں کو اس کی خوشخبری دے دو [13]۔ اے ایمان والو، اللہ کے مددگار بن جاو، ایسے ہی جیسے عیسیٰ ابن مریم نے اپنے حواریوں سے کہا تھا کہ اللہ کی راہ میں میرے مددگار کون ہیں؟ تو حواریوں نے کہا تھا کہ ہم ہیں اللہ کے مددگار۔ پس پھر بنی اسرائیل میں سے ایک گروہ ایمان لے آیا اور ایک گروہ نے انکار کا راستہ اختیار کیا۔ اور پھرہم نے ایمان لانے والوں کو مضبوط کر دیا اور وہ اپنے دشمنوں پر غالب آ گئے [14]۔
